There is a list a mile long of favorite things at Christmas time but at the top of the list is Christmas cards. I love to make cards and Christmas gives you a great opportunity to create some beautiful and unique cards. These are a few of the cards I’ve made in the past few years. I also like to use them when I decorate the house for the Holidays.
I found this red card with a square already cut out which made it pretty easy to decorate. The glitter paper really helps the Christmas tree pop. I also liked the shape of this card because it is different.
This next card is my favorite. It has a lot of detail and dimension. The ornament is made out of glitter paper and beads to embellish it. The tree is paper with sequins and the L was cut out of thin cardboard and wrapped with yarn. I was so thrilled with how it turned out. I really want to make this same card only bigger to display.
The idea for this card came from the shape of a gift tag. I used 12×12 red cardstock paper and folded it to make an accordion card. Each tag is 4 inches. I used ribbon on this card to finish it off.
The unique thing about this card is the circle is a coaster. I found a package of them in the $1 bin at Joann’s and I thought it fit right into the style of this card.
I hope these cards help give you a few new ideas for handmade Christmas Cards this year. When you take the time to make someone a card it really shows them how much you care about them.
