Just when things were really starting to go well disaster has struck!
First we had the boy’s beds that aside from the little *missing paint can incident* turned out fantastic and I am so excited about them. Then we had their desk that makes me so happy with the result I can’t help but smiling when I think about it. Things were going great, progress was being made…
Then today struck. You see I have 2 night stands, 1 tall dresser and 1 long dresser all painted, sanded, stained and ready to go down in their bedroom. I was just waiting on the drawer pulls. I had an idea of what I wanted but after the way the pulls on the desk turned out I was changing my mind. I finally found pulls that I actually really liked and the price of .74 each made them even better (since I needed 24 of them).
So yesterday I got all the pulls painted the lovely Krylon Oil Rubbed Bronze and was so excited to get them put on all the drawers. Last night I asked Nate to drill the holes for me, I already knew where the holes needed to go for the desk so that wasn’t scary for me but I KNEW putting new holes in these drawers was going to be harder. Well, I think he was trying to be nice and so instead of doing it for me he tried to teach me how to do it right…
I shouldn’t be taught ๐
He marked the 1st drawer last night. This morning I got my hair done (yay) and then came home and fixed the boys lunch and put all 3 littles down to bed so I could drill the holes. 1st hole went in great 2nd hole, well it went in great but either his markings were off or I am just awful at this ๐ BUT I was determined to press forward so I grabbed the drawer from the other night stand and marked the holes – 1.5″ from center and 3″ down from the top. Yeah, somehow the holes aren’t level they also aren’t even spaced far enough apart from each other!!
HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN? I even did the whole “measure twice so you only have to cut/drill once” thing and it did me no good. SO, now I have the joy of filling in all the holes (done) and waiting for it to dry so I can sand it and then prime it and then paint it so I can then again sand it and stain it.
So, today you get a picture of just the nightstand without the miserable drawers.
There is a theme in the room that will be revealed when I have everything ready for the reveal, just know that the extreme distressing is for a reason and is how I wanted it to look ๐
