Family Fun with MARVEL’s Avengers

It’s just too fun to surprise kids.   While we all love the The Avenger’s movies my younger boys are in the full Super Hero obsession phase.  They’ve both been so busy with sports I thought it would be fun to surprise them with a little bit of downtime with an impromptu MARVEL’S The Avengers: Age of Ultron party (I like to think of it as a tea party of sorts for boys!).  I believe a large part of what makes a party fun is the theme and swag that the party contains.  Thanks to the huge assortment of MARVEL’S The Avengers: Age of Ultron toys/games/food/clothing/etc at walmart I was able to find them some fun things I knew they would love!

Look at all this fun stuff – MARVEL’S The Avengers: Age of Ultron shirts, water bottles, sunglasses, The Avengers movie, candy, fruit snacks, cheez its and then the highlight for my boys MARVEL’S The Avengers Monopoly!

My kids LOVE Monopoly so when I saw The Avengers Monopoly I knew we had to own it.  It was a good call on my part because they loved playing it.
This guy right here is going on 2 years of being our Monopoly champion, he hasn’t lost a game and takes playing very seriously but is always a great sport and is a very gracious winner.  They both loved picking their favorite characters to play.  Morgan has no problem picking his favorite, Captain America (he’s been his favorite since he was like 2!).  Bright just loves them all, he enjoyed reading about all their super powers and ended up choosing The Hulk for this round.

I love when new movies come out that star characters my children already love MARVEL’S The Avengers: Age of Ultron has brought new life to all the previous Avengers toys they had and makes finding new items I know they’ll enjoy easier.  The sunglasses and water bottles are so fun and perfect for them to use daily with soccer and baseball and check out those shirts!
Those who know me well know I am not a huge fan of character clothing but I had to cave when I saw these shirts (and there are more options too!).  I knew they would love them (and of course think they were “super cool”) and I was seriously impressed with the quality, they aren’t cheap dorky shirts.

Once they were done having snacks and playing the game I let them spend a little bit of time on the Super Heroes Assemble App
You can get the app free on iTunes and Google Play.  The boys had a great time learning more about their favorite Heroes
Make sure you download the app before you head to walmart because you can scan products and displays throughout the store to unlock many more features on the app (you can also unlock features at walmart.com).

Snacks for our little party were MARVEL’S The Avengers: Age of Ultron themed.  We had MARVEL’S The Avengers: Age of Ultron fruit snacks and a Cheez-Its party mix.  The boys loved that their snacks had all their favorites on them.

Cheez-Its Party Mix Recipe

Preheat Oven to 325°
2 cups Crispix Cereal
2 cups Cheez-It’s
2 cups Pretzels
1/2 cup peanuts
6 TB butter/margarine melted
1 TB + 2tsp powder ranch mix

Mix together Crispix, Cheez-It’s, Pretzels, and Peanuts.  In separate bowl mix together melted butter and powder ranch mix.
Pour ranch mixture over dry mixture and stir until coated.
Bake 35-40 minutes stirring every 10 minutes.
When done cool and store in air tight container.

The boys are now counting down the days until Nate and I see the movie and decide if it’s ok for them to see it or not, luckily they’ve got plenty to keep them in the world of MARVEL’S The Avengers: Age of Ultron until that day comes.
