We are so excited to be invited back as RootsTech 2018 Ambassadors! We have loved every moment we’ve gotten to spend at RootsTech and know that this coming event will be amazing!
RootsTech is the largest geneology conference there is. It’s four days packed with amazing speakers, classes, vendors, information, and more! If you are just starting out on your geneology journey or you’re an expert, there is something for everyone at RootsTech! The 2018 conference will be held from February 28th – March 3rd, 2018 at the Salt Palace Convention Center in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. With over 300 classes for every skill level, you are going to have so many doors opened to you to keep going on your geneology path. I’m still amazed how every year I learn so much more and gain so much knowledge.
RootsTech also boasts some of the very best keynote speakers. They are always so fun and engaging. Their family history stories will uplift and inspire you. In the past we’ve gotten the honor of hearing from former First Lady Laura Bush, Donny Osmond, Alex Boye, Drew and Jonathan Scott (The Property Brothers), Love, Taza, The Cake Boss Buddy Valastro, AJ Jacobs, LeVar Burton, and SO many more! Not only has it been amazing to hear these speakers talk about their own family history journey, but as ambassadors we’ve had a chance to interview many of them and learn even more to share with you! You’ll definitely want to follow along on our social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter) to catch live updates, pictures, video clips and more!
Probably the main reason we love going to RootsTech is the amazing energy. You come out of the conference feeling so inspired and driven when it comes to family history…but even more, you come out feeling connected. You’re with thousands and thousands of other people from all different backgrounds who have come together for a common goal of learning and expanding their knowledge of their family history. More than once we have been brought to tears by the sheer spirit that fills the convention center. And by Saturday, we are so sad to have to say goodbye, but we are renewed in our desire to continue to find out more about our own family history, record our stories, and document our lives.
We are so excited to give one of our amazing readers a full 4-Day Pass to RootsTech 2018! This sounds do amazing, I would love to go this year!!
I’ve been to several national genealogy conferences (NGS, FGS) but never to RootsTech. I work in the technology field and have been researching my family history since 1988. I would absolutely love to see Lisa Louise Cooke again (I love her style and topics), as well as checking out all the vendors in one spot. I’d love to gather ideas for the historical society’s web site, which I created and manage. All in all, this would be a super week for me.
Everything! But especially the exhibit hall and the DNA classes. Oh…I want the international classes too, German, French, etc research.
I love the opening sessions! The speakers are usually spectacular. And then there is the time to visit the vendor hall and all the vendors.
Everything about Roots Tech is great. I went in early 2017 for the first time. It was really nice meeting so many new people who are interested in the same things. My favorite is the DNA related lectures and the vendors areas that have the demos. I’m looking forward to going to the opening session and EVERYTHING after.
I can hardly wait until RootsTech 2018. Thanks for giving me this opportunity to enter your contest.
I’ve always wanted to go, but work or family always seems to get in the way – maybe this is the year!!
I’m looking forward to meeting new people, finding wonderful new ways to include (interest) family and friends in family history. If I learn something that will help sort out all of the near-duplicates and get them into their correct places on my tree, so much the better!
I am most looking forward to the community-vibe at RootsTech 2018! It’s one big family; beginners to experts, young to… ahem… aged. 😀 There’s something new to learn around every corner and there’s someone you can teach with every conversation, question, or interaction. Family really is everything!!
