So while my house is definitely a house in the works (very fondly called our own little money pit) I decided that that’s OK. I can still decorate and try to make it more and more our home. Someday we’ll get it the way we want and I can keep working at things 1 (or 9) rooms at a time.
Today you get to see how our front room is decorated for the fall season – it’s this way now, will change a little bit for Halloween and then will probably go back this way quite a bit after Halloween passes until Thanksgiving ๐
The apothecary jars I just recently finished and the Autumn blocks I made YEARS ago back before vinyl was really anything anyone was doing and well, I still like them – even if the kids move them around all the time. The square pumpkins up behind the cute little scarecrow are another thing I made a while back and the frames are just some I picked up at the lovely DI. The black one I painted, the other 2 I had every intention of painting but then I found the cool “C” (pictured below) and they kind of went along with it and so kept them as they are ๐
This lovely built-in shelf Nate built last year (it was last year right?….other housewives…help a girl out here, when did we do this?!?) and while I still REALLY feel like there should be one on the other side as well for now this one is great. All the frames are more I picked up at the DI and the cute damask frame I made here. And the “C” I don’t know why I love it so BUT I do. Picked it up at Hobby Lobby for 50% off so it was only like $4.99.
And everything here pretty much was given to me ๐ I made the Harvest blocks and the cool gold frame on the left is another I picked up at the DI with intent to paint but decided I liked it as it is and yep, everything else was given to me ๐
If I manage to get the rest out maybe I’ll show you what else I’ve got decorating the kitchen!
