Christmas Cereal Wreaths
4 1/2 cups corn flake cereal
10 oz package marshmallows
1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
1 1/2 teaspoons green food coloring
Red cinnamon candies, for decoration
Red fruit leather, sliced thin for decoration
Directions:
Place parchment paper on baking sheet and set aside. In a large bowl, measure 4 1/2 cups of corn flake cereal. In a sauce pan over medium heat, melt butter. Add marshmallows and stir until melted and combined. Add green food coloring and stir until smooth. Remove from heat. Pour over cereal, stir with a spatula or wooden spoon until corn flake cereal is completely coated. Spray the inside of a 1/2 cup measuring cup with non stick spray. Place each 1/2 cup mound a couple inches apart on the lined baking sheet. Let cool for a couple of minutes. Spray your hands with non stick spray and form each mound into wreaths. While your fruit leather is still rolled up, slice into thin slices. Unroll, cut into 3-4 inch lengths and shape into bows. Place the bows and the cinnamon candies on the wreaths for decoration. The marshmallow mixture over the cereal will hold the decorations in place.
See how easy those are! This is a really fun dessert for your kids to make. They can shape the wreaths and add the candies on to make them look just like holly wreaths.
