This Five Minute Fudge recipe is super easy to make and SO tasty! No candy thermometer needed! With the holiday season just around the corner, you can add this to the other tasty treats on your neighbor treat plates for a rich, chocolatey treat!
For this five-minute fudge you only need two ingredients! One bag of chocolate chips and one can of vanilla frosting. You can use any brand you would like for the chocolate chips and frosting.
There are a lot of homemade chocolate fudge recipes that use a handful of ingredients like powdered sugar, stick of butter, and sweetened condensed milk. However, if you don't want to mess with all of that, you can use our microwave fudge recipe to get it done quickly!
First microwave your 12 ounce bag of chocolate chips (about 2 cups of chocolate chips) in a large microwave-safe bowl.
Heat for 30 seconds at a time until melted (it took me about 1 min 30 secs). The chocolate chips will not be completely melted, stir them until it's smooth.
Then open the canister and heat for 30 seconds or until pourable.
Pour into the melted chips and stir until blended and it has a creamy texture. You can use any kind of frosting. I used vanilla to mellow out the chocolate flavor just a bit. I have made it before with milk chocolate frosting and chips and it was delicious but SUPER rich.
Next pour your fudge mixture into a prepared pan. You can use an 8 x8-inch pan for a thicker traditional fudge size, but I had two 7×5 pans so my fudge was a little thinner. You can also line your square pan with parchment paper instead of spraying your pan.
Next you will put it in the fridge to set for an hour (or however long it takes for it to set).
When it is set, pull it out and slice into small, bite-size squares. I make them pretty small because it's very chocolatey fudge. 🙂
Then set on a pretty plate and let everyone think you are an amazing fudge wizard! This is literally the easiest, best fudge recipe you will find.

One-bowl Chocolate Fudge Recipe FAQ's:
How do you store the fudge?
We suggest storing your fudge in an airtight container. You can also wrap it in plastic wrap to help keep it fresh. Just make sure the fudge is wrapped tight or in a sealed container to keep it delicious. I like to pull it out a little bit before I serve it so it's at room temperature for eating.
Can I use other flavors of chips?
Yes! You can use peanut butter chips for a peanut butter flavored fudge, or butterscotch chips for butterscotch fudge. You can also use white chocolate chips!
What if I want to add other stuff to my fudge?
You can put additional mix-ins in your fudge, just make sure you don't over do it! We've added peanuts and mini marshmallows for a rocky road fudge. We've also swirled marshmallow cream through the fudge too. Marshmallows melt well with a little butter, so if you have extra marshmallows, you can do that instead of buying marshmallow cream. You can make a lot of fudge in different flavors by adding mix ins!
Does it matter what size pan I use?
No, it doesn't. Just remember the larger the pan, the thinner your fudge will be. It's a rich treat, so I usually opt for a small, thin square for small servings instead of extra thick slices of fudge.
Do I have to melt everything in the microwave?
No! If you have a double boiler and you'd prefer to use that, you totally can.
