I love cinnamon swirl bread! It’s seriously such a delicious treat and super versatile! It can be used for toast, french toast, or if you are my boys…served warm as a dessert! ๐ They were begging for more “yummy bread” as they called it! Plus…what says “holidays” more than a warm cinnamon swirl bread and hot chocolate. ๐
Cinnamon Swirl Bread
Makes 2 loaves
Lightly adapted from Taste of Home
Dough:
1 cup warm milk
1/4 cup warm water
1/4 cup butter
2 egg, room temperature
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup sugar
5 cups flour
2 1/4 teaspoons yeast
Combine all ingredients in your bread maker and put on dough setting, it should take about an hour and a half.

Filling:
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/3 cup sugar
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1 1/2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Mix all ingredients except butter in a small bowl, set aside.

Mix all ingredients except butter in a small bowl, set aside.
After dough is done, turn out on to lightly floured surface and cut dough in half. Roll out into two long rectangles. Brush both layers with melted butter and then spread the cinnamon sugar mixture over the dough. (I felt like there still wasn’t QUITE enough cinnamon so I sprinkled another layer of cinnamon over the top of the sugar mixture.) Roll tightly jelly roll style and pinch the end tightly closed. Use remaining butter to brush the inside of your loaf pans and put the loaves in the pans, seam side down. Cover with hand towel and let rise for 1 hour. Bake at 350°F for 20 to 25 mins. If you want a lighter colored crusted, cover with tin foil for the first 15 mins of baking. Remove from pans, let cool for about 10 mins, slice and serve! ๐
