Quick question. How many letter boards do you own? I think I’m up to 5! Between the letter boards, chalkboards, and the light boxes my house is slowly (and happily) filling up with words and phrases.
I love them and I love changing them. Because I am a bit addictive with things I love I also love finding ways to use them that doesn’t break the bank. My DIY Letter Board Hack is possibly the simplest idea in the history of forever but it might also be something you don’t know yourself yet so I’m sharing it with you.
DIY Letter Board Hack Tutorial:
It’s so simple it’s going to blow your mind!
Because the letter boards I own are all felt letter boards they act just like a felt board so felt sticks to it. Which means I can cut out anything I want from felt and stick it right to my letter board.
I started with a simple large heart that I just cut out free hand and I love how the red pops against the black letter board. Now that I know this will work I cannot wait to break out my Cricut Maker and have it cut out all sorts of things from felt for me.
I did not use any type of adhesive or stiffener on my felt to get it to stick, it really just sticks right to it. Now be warned, if you’re moving your felt board around or if it happens to be right by like a door or window it’s possible that the felt will blow/fall off, it is not permanently adhered to the felt board. That being said I have had mine on for about a week now and I’ve moved it multiple times and the heart hasn’t moved yet.
I really can’t get over how much I love how this felt board hack turned out. I love that it’s simple, I love that it looks awesome, and I love that it’s so inexpensive that I can’t wait to try it again!
So do you have a letter board? If you do what is your favorite thing to write on it? If you create your own letter board felt art I’d love for you to share them with us. You can either leave them in the comments below or make sure and tag us (@housewivesofriverton) on Instagram!
