I got this recipe for these breadsticks from our friend Kristin. A few days ago Jenn shared Kristin’s awesome chicken pasta ceaser salad that you can find here . I thought these bread sticks would go perfectly with that salad for a quick and easy dinner. I think this would make a great summertime meal when it’s hot outside and nothing sounds good. My family loves these breadsticks and my kids get so excited when they find out I’m making them. We rarely have leftovers! The best thing about these breadsticks you can make them from start to finish in an about an hour! I love how easy they are to make!
Ingredients you will need:
1 T. yeast (1 package)
1 1/2 c. warm water
2 T. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
3-4 c. flour
1 cube melted butter ( I never use this much)
seasonings for breadsticks (I use garlic salt, garlic powder, dill weed) I’ve also
used Parmesan cheese.
First mix yeast and water together, then add sugar, salt and 1 cup of flour until combined. Slowly add 2 more cups of flour ( or more until not sticky) after this you will knead for 3 minutes. Cover dough and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Melt some of the butter and pour onto the cookie sheet. Roll out your dough and stretch it to fit your cookie sheet (If dough is a little sticky you can add a little flour to it) and then pour melted butter on top. Sprinkle with seasonings and cut with a pizza cutter. Let rise 10 minutes. Cook on 375 for 20-30 minutes.
Just out of the oven!! YUM
Ok so this is the time when you sneak one of those hot breadsticks just to be sure they taste good! 🙂
