Have you ever made a wreath before? You’ll find you have quite a few options when it comes to bases.
You’ve probably heard of grapevine wreaths or styrofoam wreaths. Have you seen the new simple metal hoop wreaths?
Did you know to get the best ruffled wreath look you want a metal base with multiple wires to feed the ribbon through?
People are even throwing wreath bases right out the window creating their own with wooden beads!
Where to find wreath supplies?
There are many places to find wreath making supplies. One of the first places I always look is around my house.
I like to figure out what base I want to use first and then go from there. Dried leaves and flowers from around your house and yard are a great place to start.
My Fall Acorn wreath is one of my favorite projects ever and I collected the acorns right off the sidewalk.
Once I’ve exhausted the supplies at my house I love to head to my local craft stores. Hobby Lobby, Joann, and Michaels regularly have their wreath making supplies marked down.
I tend to start in the floral stem section picking out a few base items and then head to the seasonal department for fillers.
Typically you’ll find little signs, seasonal spikes, even little animals over in the seasonal area. Often times these are items you’ll find this year that won’t be back next year.
Don’t limit yourself to certain stores though. Dollar stores, Walmart, and even Amazon regularly have great deals on the perfect wreath accessories.
