I can’t believe Halloween is just a little over 2 weeks away! This month is just flying by! It’s been fun getting the house all spooky for Halloween. I’m really excited about these glitter pumpkins. I’ve seen cute colored pumpkins in the stores and boutiques with different glitter designs on them and I will fully admit I’m cheap and I don’t want to pay the prices they want for these pumpkins. I was in Target one day and of course I had to go look at their Halloween decorations and I saw these cute colored pumpkins for really inexpensive and picked up a few. I knew exactly what I was going to make with them!
Supply you will need:
pumpkins
Paint brush
pencil with eraser
mod podge
glitter
I decided I wanted to do polka dots on my pumpkins. I don’t know what it is about polka dots but I just love them! I just used the bottom of a pencil eraser to make the dots by dipping the eraser in the mod podge. This seemed to work really well. I found this technique to be the easiest because of the shape and lines on the pumpkin.
Next take your glitter and pour it over the mod podge and shake off any extra glitter onto your paper this way you can pour any extra glitter into the bottle when you are finished.
Aren’t the polka dots so cute!??!!
I just used a paint brush to get all the excess glitter off the pumpkins this seemed to work really well.
Here they are all finished! I couldn’t decide which color of pumpkin I liked better so I bought one of each color and I’m so glad I did. They look so cute all together!
I love how these pumpkins turned out. I had a lot of fun making them. After I was finished I thought of all the fun designs you could make with them. You could add different ribbons and twine around the stem. What I like even more about these pumpkins is how affordable they are. I got all the pumpkins for 10.00. I wouldn’t be able to even buy one pumpkin like this for that price in a store or boutique. With fall break coming up this would be a fun and affordable project you could do with your children and see what fun designs they come up with! Happy crafting!
