I’m so excited to share Lakley’s bedroom makeover with you. We had so much fun picking colors and everything we used we refurbished from the headboard to the dressers and even the shelves.
I’m so happy with how Lakley’s bedroom makeover came together. It turned out better than I had imagined. I hope you’ll love it as much as we do.
Lakley’s not going to be too happy I shared this picture but it is the only one I could find that shows the space before. Big improvement don’t you think? She was definitely a pre-teen that wanted to express herself with color. She got tired of this color real quick…..and so did I.
We live in a small home and Lakley’s room was added after we moved in. This space was once a framed porch so it is very small, no real closet and our options were pretty limited. We had to get very creative with fitting everything. We raised the bed for more storage under it and the (pretend closet) as we refer to is too small for a door so we hung curtains in front of it.
I found these dressers on KSL for $100 and I was so excited when I measured and they fit. They started out a light oak color and I will share later the technique I used to refinish them.
The headboard is really special to me because it came from my parents home that is 80 years old. I found it in the old barn very dirty but I could see the potential in it. I love old antiques.
I bet you can’t guess what I made this unique shelf out of? I’m pretty excited to share so my next post will give you all the details.

Wow! Very nice job on the rumor you do. Lots of good ideas. Thanks for sharing.

what color is on the wall and where did you get the comforter? i love it all
Bob, the paint color is Porter Paints 413-3 Ostrich Feather. I love this color because it is neutral but not boring. It is a great color if your looking for a gray tone. I found his bedspread at Big Lots of all places but I can’t find a name on it unfortunately. Thank you for liking my post.
Beautiful work. I would like to know the technique used on the dressers, please.
