Paula and I are currently hanging out with our family in Oregon for a variety of reasons. One of them sad while the rest are great.
Today we’ve got a funeral for a wonderful friend who lost her battle to cancer. She will be very missed but today instead of being really sad I am trying hard to celebrate her life.
This evening our oldest nephew is participating in the Mr. Wolverine pageant. A fundraiser for The Children’s Miracle Network at our High School. He and my niece have been working themselves to the bone raising money, perfecting the events for the night, and doing all they can to raise awareness for this wonderful cause.
We’re so proud of the effort they have put forth and I know tonight is going to be amazing. They alone have raised over $3,500 and I have no doubt that amount will grow before the close of fundraising tonight.
If you happen to be in the Eugene, Oregon area tonight and don’t have plans already I highly recommend heading over to Willamette High School and joining us for the evening. Tickets are still available at the door for $10 and $15 – ALL money raised goes to the Children’s Miracle Network.
Tomorrow we’ll be joining our family at church to see our little niece and nephew be blessed and then sadly we have to get back on the road.
On the drive to town instead of our normal drive through Bend & Burns we came through Portland and stopped for a minute with the kids at the Multnomah Falls. It was (sadly of course) raining so we didn’t stay too long but it sure was beautiful.
