We love s’mores around here! Seriously. They are one of my favorite things about summer. So I’ve come up with some great recipes and ideas to share with you all throughout the summer in our Summer S’mores Series. Don’t worry, you don’t need a campfire to enjoy these s’mores! These can be done in your kitchen, no fire needed! 🙂
I’ve shared before how to make Easy Homemade Donuts. While I was coming up with recipes for this series, I thought it would be awesome to do a S’mores Donut! My kids were crazy excited about me doing this because they love s’mores AND donuts! I made these donuts the same way as my other donuts, but I wanted to make them larger, so I made them with the larger biscuits.
S’mores Donuts
Large buttermilk biscuits
oil for frying
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips, melted
Marshmallow topping (find the recipe here)
1/2 cup of graham cracker crumbs
After frying and cooling my donuts, I dipped them in melted chocolate. Sprinkle them with the graham cracker crumbs before the chocolate is set. Next, using a piping bag, pipe the marshmallow topping onto the donuts. If you’d like to sprinkle a little more of the graham cracker crumbs on top of the marshmallow topping. Store in an air tight container until you are ready to serve. They are best served within 24 hours.
Trust me, your family will LOVE these. They would make a great treat for a backyard barbecue or a backyard camping adventure. Stay tuned for the next delicious S’mores recipe we have coming up for you!
