They do warn that the cake batter will be thick – that’s okay! It’s supposed to be. This looks like the perfect low carb dessert for me!
Applesauce Cake – Sugar Free
Another favorite childhood cake of mine is Applesauce Cake. I remember thinking how cool I was the first time I learned that applesauce could be used in place of oil in a cake mix!
Chelsea’s Messy Apron has an Applesauce Cake I cannot wait to make.
This recipe looks amazing for a few different reasons. First using a food processor it uses ground oats instead of white flour. Unsweetened applesauce is the star of this sugar free recipe which is awesome because I love applesauce. Because this recipe doesn’t use traditional oils like vegetable oil make sure you use parchment paper to line your pan so it doesn’t stick.
Versatile Sugar Free Cake Recipes
Pound cake is another favorite to have on hand and I can’t wait to try a sugar free pound cake recipe.
The Sugar Free Diva has a Sugar Free Pound Cake recipe that looks simply delicious. I didn’t see a lot of sugar free pound cake recipe options and this one looks just like a regular pound cake. Have you ever made a cake with sour cream before? They always end up so moist I love when a recipe calls for it. If you make this recipe make sure you store any leftovers in an airtight container so it doesn’t dry out! An airtight container will guarantee your cake is just as good the next day.
I’ve never tried making a sponge cake before which is strange because I absolutely love strawberry shortcake! I think it’s time I try one and this Sugar-free Low Carb Sponge Cake (that is also keto diet friendly and gluten free) by Sugar Free Mom looks like the perfect one to try.
Sugar Free Mom says this low carb cake is “a masterpiece made grain free, gluten free, nut free and just about 100 calories per slice”! Don’t forget when making this cake to separate your egg whites from the yoke but don’t toss the yoke! You need both parts of the egg (all 9 of them!). This just looks like the perfect summer dessert.

You know how I just said I LOVE Strawberry Shortcake. Well, that’s the truth. It’s likely my favorite summer time dessert. Yes, even over s’mores. My love for it runs deep and if it’s on the menu sign me up. I can’t wait to try a sugar-free version of my favorite dessert!

Add all the fresh sliced strawberries (hello natural sugars) you want for the perfect summer treat. This recipe calls for a liquid sweetener called Hermesetas liquid, I’m not sure you can find that in the US (I haven’t looked yet) but if you can’t I would think another liquid sweetener would work.
