I think I mentioned before how blessed we were with Morgan’s 1st grade teacher. If I didn’t that is awful of me because she truly was amazing and so perfect for him. My cute friend Aleisha over at She Calls Me Mama Leisha started a movement called the Porch Pinata. She’s one of the most happy, loving, inspiring people I know and she does this just to make others happy. When I was talking to her recently I got the idea to do a Back to School Porch Pinata and I knew exactly who I wanted to do it for.
Teachers are sadly under appreciated I feel by too many people. I wanted Morgan’s teacher to know how much we appreciated her and if I could in the process help out a little with the back to school busy-ness it would be a win-win.
I headed to the store and found this cute present pinata and picked out a whole bunch of things I thought would be useful in her classroom.
Just to give you some ideas I included:
hand sanitizer
boxes of tissue
antibacterial hand wipes
safety scissors
glue sticks
glue
rulers
erasers
pencils
crayons
chocolate (we all need chocolate)
and a gift card to The Pop Shop because it’s everyone’s favorite
It was close but it all fit!
Morgan was so so so excited to deliver the package he couldn’t wipe the smile off his face.
Feedback from his teacher was “best surprise ever” which made him smile even bigger.
A porch pinata can be any size, the point is to bring a smile to the face of someone, maybe someone going through a hard time or maybe just someone who deserves to be recognized. Have fun with it and be sure to use #porchpinata on social media so Aleisha can see how her movement is spreading.
