We loving cooking outdoors. It’s a life saver in the summer to keep the house cool, and during the colder months, it’s perfect for warming up and reminiscing about warmer days. And lets be honest, nothing tastes as good as something grilled! We decided to do a family dinner night of Build Your Own Pizza using our Camp Chef Artisan Outdoor Oven 30 accessory box.
Putting this together was so easy and so much fun for the kids. They loved getting to put their own toppings on and have their own personal pizzas. The basics that you are going to need are:
Choose the toppings that will fit your family’s tastes best, we picked pepperoni and olives.
Some other ideas for toppings are:
To get started, round up all your ingredients and have them set with enough space for people to work on their own pizzas. Preheat your pizza oven, we cooked ours at 450°F and it worked perfectly. Make sure you check the directions on your pizza crust to see if it needs to be pre baked at all. Brush your pizza crust with olive oil, top with your sauce, add a layer of cheese, then your toppings. After that sprinkle on a little more cheese to help hold your toppings on.
Bake for 7-10 minutes until your toppings are cooked and your cheese is nicely melted.
In our oven we could do two pizzas at a time, so it worked perfectly to have a couple of the kids make their pizza, and while those were baking to have a couple more kids make their pizza. They were all really excited for their pizza to cook and get to taste their creations. We had a lot of fun with this, so grab your family and get everyone cooking! Enjoy!
