Looking for an easy snack to make on a slow summer day? This is an easy and fun treat to make. Add in the facts that it tastes a hundred times better than store bought and it is seriously cheaper than purchasing pre made caramel popcorn and it is a triple win!
Here is the ingredient list:
6 Cups popped popcorn
3/4 Cup packed brown sugar
1/3 Cup butter
3 Tablespoons light corn syrup
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
At this point you can just enjoy the caramel popcorn as is. It is the soft chewy version that I usually prefer! However if you want to keep it for any length of time, or serve it for a treat at a party you will want to bake it.
To bake it, preheat the oven to 300 degrees, then pour the popcorn onto a baking sheet and smooth it gently into a single layer.
Once the over reaches 300 degrees pop it into the oven and bake for 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes take it out and stir it, then bake for an additional 5 minutes.
Let it cool and then enjoy!!
