We Housewives have an adorable friend named Kristin. She’s getting ready to have her first baby girl! We’re all so excited for her (well….Paula may be equally excited & jealous).
Last night was her Baby Shower. It was a lot of fun to get together with all the girls and hang out and our other adorable friend Alisha did an amazing job decorating for the event and hosting it. I just LOVE any excuse for a *girl’s night out*!
It also gave me a chance to try out a pattern I’ve had for a while but hadn’t made quite yet.
I don’t think there is any debate that anything tiny is adorable. Seriously, you take a pattern, make it TINY and the cuteness factor goes up by like 700%.
I got this pillowcase romper pattern & tutorial quite a while back. It is by Whimsy Couture and I am now seriously bummed that I waited so long to try it out. It always seemed complicated but once I got sewing it, it went together SO easily.
I used a gorgeous Michael Miller light pink damask print for the body of the romper and then used some grey and white chevron grosgrain ribbon for the front ruffle and tie.
Since the baby’s room is pink and grey I couldn’t bring myself to make something out of any other colors. Pink and Grey is possibly my favorite color combination ever. It is just so feminine and then adding the damask print to the combo it’s now almost over the top girly.
I cannot wait to make more of these. I actually had to text Nate a picture and tell him that it was a necessity that I get more of this fabric because the Goose NEEDS this outfit. Thankfully he tolerates me and my grand ideas well.
I am so excited for this weekend. We’re doing NOTHING!!! We’ve got a soccer game early Saturday morning and then not a single thing else planned the entire weekend. We’ll be staying around the house working on projects that need to be completed and it’s conference weekend and while getting to attend church meetings in my pajamas is a definite plus I am much more excited to be instructed by our leaders and to feel that oneness with our whole church world wide. I always come away from conference feeling uplifted and encouraged. I can’t wait!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend as well!! Do something fun!
