End of the Year Teacher Gifts

We have hit the end of another school year.  That means this fall I’ll have an 8th grader, 6th grader, 4th grader, 2nd grader, 1st grader, preschooler and 1 little princess left at home with me.  When did I get so old?

A LONG while back I saw a really cute Teacher Gift.  It is from back in 2010 so who knows when exactly I saw it and thought it was adorable (according to pinterest it was at least 15 weeks ago).

I knew it was what I wanted to do for our end of the year Teacher Gifts.  We participate all throughout the year with gifts for the teachers because I 100% believe they deserve them (beginning of the year, Christmas, Valentine’s, Teacher Appreciation Week and if I can happen to find out birthdays).  With a whole herd of kiddos in school I am always looking for something thoughtful that won’t break the bank.

This one fit the bill.

I found these really cute bright flower pots for $0.96 (I bought 4).  The flowers each came in a pack of 6 for $2.28 (I bought 4).  I then printed off the cute printable but I left the name area blank.  To make it a little more personal I had each of the kids in their own handwriting write *me* so it reads “Thank you for helping ME bloom* and then they signed their name.  Another thing I did to make it a little more personal was to add a picture of the child to the pot as well.  Obviously I know that probably won’t stay there forever but I know my children wanted their teachers to remember them and this helps them think they will.

It was all very simple and easy to put together.  I put a little dirt in the bottom of each pot and then added 4 of the flowers.  I added more dirt to fill the pot and keep the flowers all in place and then I glued the picture and the printable to the flat little wooden stake thing and stuck them in the dirt.

I think my grand total per pot went something like this:

pot – $0.96
flowers – ($2.28/6×4) $1.52
picture – (printed 4×6 at walgreens) $0.19
everything else I had on hand

Not to shabby I don’t think and something I hope the teachers will all appreciate (yay for having all female teachers – makes giving flowers pretty easy).

I hope you’ve already started your summer and have fun things planned.  I plan to enjoy every minute of the summer but will be on the look-out for beginning of the year gifts so I can maybe, hopefully be ahead of the game for once!
