With nice weather approaching there is nothing we love more than grilling out! A few nights ago Josh was craving a homemade hamburger and who am I to refuse! 🙂 We had decided this early enough that I was able to throw all the ingredients in the bread machine for homemade hamburger buns. Here is what you’ll need…
(From the Bread Machine Book By Marjie Lambert)
7/8 cup milk
4 1/2 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups flour (you can use bread flour if you prefer)
1 tablespoon yeast (you’ll need rapid rise or bread machine yeast)
Set your bread machine to the dough setting (usually takes about 90 mins) and let it do it’s thing. 🙂
When the dough is ready, remove from the machine and punch down. Cut into 9 equal pieces. (I usually do 7 and make mine a touch bigger.) Let the dough rest for about 5 mins.
Roll each piece of dough into a ball and form a patty that is about 3-4 inches wide and 1/2 thick. Place the rolls on backing sheet, cover loosely and let rise for 20 mins.
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Bake 12-15 mins until a skewer or toothpick comes out clean from rolls.
Let cool on a wire rack until needed. Slice in half evenly and dress with your choice of condiments.
We served ours with garlic oven fries and it was delicious! Enjoy!
