With nice weather approaching there is nothing we love more than grilling out! A few nights ago Josh was craving a homemade hamburger and who am I to refuse! ๐ We had decided this early enough that I was able to throw all the ingredients in the bread machine for homemade hamburger buns. Here is what you’ll need…
Hamburger Buns
(From the Bread Machine Book By Marjie Lambert)
1 egg
7/8 cup milk
4 1/2 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups flour (you can use bread flour if you prefer)
1 tablespoon yeast (you’ll need rapid rise or bread machine yeast)
Set your bread machine to the dough setting (usually takes about 90 mins) and let it do it’s thing. ๐
When the dough is ready, remove from the machine and punch down. Cut into 9 equal pieces. (I usually do 7 and make mine a touch bigger.) Let the dough rest for about 5 mins.
Roll each piece of dough into a ball and form a patty that is about 3-4 inches wide and 1/2 thick. Place the rolls on backing sheet, cover loosely and let rise for 20 mins.
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Bake 12-15 mins until a skewer or toothpick comes out clean from rolls.
Let cool on a wire rack until needed. Slice in half evenly and dress with your choice of condiments.
We served ours with garlic oven fries and it was delicious! Enjoy!

Those look amazing. I am going to have to try those. I have just started getting brave enough to try making breads. But this recipe doesn’t seem too scary. ๐
It’s very simple and the bread machine does all the kneading work for you! ๐
They were awesome! I even brushed with an egg white and sprinkled sesame seeds. My family was SO impressed that I could make those!
That is great!! I’m glad you liked it! ๐ It’s always fun to impress your family. ๐
