I was so excited when Sarah from Brynnberlee asked me to pattern test her newest pattern the Lily Dress last week. Her pictures were so cute I was so excited because I knew I would love the ruffles in the back.
I was trying to decide what different fabrics I was going to use to make the dress because she had made it so cute with like 4 different coordinating fabrics so I hit up my sewing board on pinterest to get some inspiration and was over the moon with excitement when I came across a dress I had pinned, I knew without a doubt then what I was going to do.
Here’s my dress on Little Miss.
Turned out pretty cute right? {It always helps to have a pretty little model.}
Here is the dress that I had pinned before I ever saw this pattern as one I was going to try to copy because it was so cute but out of my price range.
How lucky was I that it is like nearly the same pattern?! I have no idea if this is where Sarah got her inspiration or not, the straps are a bit different but the style was close enough that I no longer feel the need to buy this $50 dress (no matter how cute it is).
Once again I enjoyed making this dress. Sarah’s patterns are very well put together and easy to follow. This one had a few more steps with all the cute ruffles but the end result was so worth it, watching Little Missy run all around in the dress has me fully ready for spring and summer and even more sweet dresses!
Here are a couple more pictures (of someone who was being a little less than cooperative with the picture taking process).
I have plans for a matching headband but with the craziness of the week that didn’t get done so I’ll get that put together and share how I do it (if it works out) because it’s going to be a new one for me.
