We’ve found the scariest haunted houses in the Salt Lake City, Utah area to make sure you can get your scare on. We’re covering all the details on these haunted attractions so you can plan the perfectly frightful night!
Scariest Haunted Houses in Utah
There are so many awesome haunted Halloween attractions in Utah that you can visit during the Halloween season. If you’re looking for something more family-friendly, these haunted adventures are probably not what you are looking for. There are a lot of great corn mazes, fall festivals, and pumpkin patches in Utah that are top Halloween attractions for families. Our list is in no particular order because we know that scary is in the eye of the beholder! We’re going to let you figure out which one will cause you the worst nightmares as the best haunted house experience.
Nightmare on 13th Haunted House
One of Utah’s best haunted houses, Nightmare on 13th offers two haunted houses on one property! Nightmare on 13th has 13 themed rooms to increase your terror. The second attraction is called the Institute of Terror that is a separate attraction that is included with the combo or VIP ticket.

Asylum 49 Haunted House
Located out in Tooele, UT, Asylum 49 has been featured on Ghost Adventures and is a former hospital and assisted care facility. Be aware that this is a full-contact haunted attraction that has a goal of scaring the pants off of you!

Fear Factory Haunted House
Fear Factory is another Salt Lake City, Utah haunted house located in the old Portland Cement Works building. If you’re spooked by paranormal activity, Fear Factory is for you! It’s made up of 6 buildings up to 6 stories high and has 2 underground passages.

Strangling Bros. Haunted Circus
If clowns and a spooky circus will terrify you the most, head down to the Strangling Bros. Haunted Circus. You’ll experience twisted circus scares, but if you’d like something a little less scary, you can do the daytime tour.

Castle of Chaos Haunted House
At the Castle of Chaos, you get to pick your level of scare! Whether you’re wanting a less terrifying experience or a scarier one, you can choose from five levels of fear. They also have year round escape rooms to keep the Halloween spirit with you all year long.

Haunted Forest Utah
Being alone at night in the forest isn’t idea for anyone. At Haunted forest, you’ll be immersed in the cannibal world of Cletus Snodgrass who needs human blood for his special blend of moonshine. This haunt features the Leech Lagoon, Chucky’s pumpkin patch, and the extraterrestrial Alien Attack!

Frightmares at Lagoon
Frightmares at Lagoon is a great place to go if you are looking for a lot of haunted houses in one place! You’ll get to experience 9 different haunted houses with varying scare levels. You can take advantage of having a ton of amazing sets to walk through for one price!

Dead City Haunted House
Unfortunately, Dead City in Murray, UT shut down, but you can see a lot of their monsters and creations that have set up shop at Asylum 49.
