Cinnamon rolls are a favorite breakfast in our house. I actually had to stop making them so often because I didn’t want our family to get sick of them! I was excited to revamp our favorite recipe into a S’mores Cinnamon Roll recipe!
I started out using my regular cinnamon roll dough (found here) and then changed up my filling and toppings!
S’mores Cinnamon Roll
(Recipe and Photos by Paula with The Housewives of Riverton)
1/2 cup Butter, softened
1 1/2 cups Brown Sugar
2 tablespoons Ground Cinnamon
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
(You can use milk chocolate chips, but I think the semi sweet help cut back on the sweetness of the cinnamon roll so it’s not OVERLY sweet.)
1/4 cup Graham Cracker Crumbs
1 – 7oz tub of Marshmallow Cream
Prepare your cinnamon roll dough. Once it’s ready, preheat your oven to 400°F. Combine your brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and flour in a bowl. Roll out your dough into a roughly 10 x 15 rectangle. Spread your butter all the way to the edges. Spread your brown sugar mixture out evenly, getting as close to the edges as possible. Next sprinkle on your graham cracker crumbs evenly. Lightly go over the whole thing with your rolling pin. This will help the filling from falling out. Lastly, sprinkle your chocolate chips. Carefully roll your dough tightly. Spray a 9 x 13 pan with non stick baking spray. Cut your roll into 12 even pieces. Place in the pan, cover with plastic wrap and let rise until double in size. Once the rolls have risen, bake for 16-22 mins. You want the tops and bottoms to be nice and golden brown, but you also need to make sure the insides are completely done.
After your rolls are done, let them cool for about 5 mins. Then spread the marshmallow cream all over the top. Put your oven on broil and place your rolls back in to brown your marshmallow cream. It will only take a couple of minutes so be sure to watch it carefully! If you’d like you can sprinkle a little more graham cracker crumbs on top. Serve warm and enjoy!
