I think sometimes as parents, we want to make great memories with our kids…but we also don’t always want to have to clean up after the mess of making those memories. As a way to let my kids help “make” s’mores with me, I decided to do S’mores on a Stick! These were by far the simplest thing to do! You get all the yummy flavor of a s’more without building a fire!
S’mores on a Stick
15 Skewers or candy sticks
15 Large or jumbo marshmallows
1 cup of chocolate chips or melting chocolate
1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
One of the best things about this treat is that it’s super easy for kids to help! I put my 7 year old in charge of putting the marshmallows on the sticks, and put my 12 year old in charge of crushing the graham crackers while I was melting the chocolate. Have a tray or cookie sheet covered in wax paper waiting.
Take a marshmallow on a stick and dip it in the chocolate. I used a spoon help get the chocolate up on the sides. Feel free to dip the whole marshmallow in the chocolate. I just liked having some of the marshmallow showing. 🙂 Next hold the chocolate covered marshmallow over the bowl of graham cracker crumbs, spoon the crumbs over the chocolate. Set upright on the wax paper. Once you have finished all of them, set them in the fridge to help the chocolate firm up. Pull them out of the fridge as soon as you are ready to serve and enjoy!

I should try this with my Scouts. When you get 25 or 30 Scouts doing s’mores in the traditional way, it gets pretty messy.
