Just like that we’re moving from Halloween to Thanksgiving decor and in a blink we’ll be moving onto Christmas decor. Traditionally I am 100% against setting up for Christmas before Thanksgiving is over. I try hard not to judge those who want to set up early but for me I want to enjoy each season/holiday as they come and not skip over some, especially Thanksgiving because a. it is one of my very favorites and b. I truly feel we should embrace what the Thanksgiving season is, an opportunity to slow down and truly contemplate all that we have to be thankful for. I fully and completely intend to celebrate the Thanksgiving season to the fullest, however, for the first time ever I am starting my Christmas decorating before Thanksgiving. With 6 birthdays and the business of the Nutcracker dance season times 2 in full swing a lot of my time will be spent not at home and I want to make sure and have plenty of time to get my decor all up, just right, before my whole family gets here for Christmas. My plan is to start in the basement and work my way upstairs. My front room will be decorated for Thanksgiving but the rest of the house will be getting a Christmasy facelift.
Before Christmas takes over I’ve got a few fun fall/Thanksgiving projects to share and the first one I shared last week. My Harvest banner turned out so cute and one of the things that completed the look of the project was the Stampin’ Up! Acorn Builder Punch.
The punch makes it easy to create these cute acorns in 2 different pieces to give a great 3D effect.
I used some fall colored berries and leaves to dress up the acorns and it worked perfectly. I love how mixing the different patterned paper adds detail without any extra work.
Along with the Acorn Builder Punch Stampin’ UP! also has the Acorny Thank You Stamp Set that fits perfectly with the punch.
For our Thanksgiving Tablescape I put my 14 year old to work making our place cards for the adult table. She put together the cutest acorn place cards using both the acorn stamp set and the acorn punch.
I loved how they fit perfectly in our place card holders.
I fully intend to use this punch and stamp set for tags on treats I need to deliver and cards for family. So many options for this set. You can purchase the stamp set and punch together and save which is a great option because I promise you’re going to want both of these.
Make sure you check out the Stampin’ UP! Holiday Mini Catalog for these great items and many many more (not to mention some great ideas in the photos).
