These Strawberry Chocolate Chip Cookies are so delicious and super easy because it comes from a cake mix! They are sweet, delicious and will make a tasty neighbor gift to hand out for Valentine’s Day!
If you want to throw these together for a yummy after school snack, dessert, or just because you’ll only need a few ingredients! I really love how these Strawberry Chocolate Chip cookies stay thick and moist. They definitely are a sweet cookie. I used milk chocolate chips, but if you’d like to cut the sweetness, use semi-sweet.
Strawberry Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 box strawberry cake mix
1/2 cup oil
1 cup chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Mix cake mix, oil, and egg together in medium bowl. Add in chocolate chips. I used a two ounce scoop to create a more uniform size cookie. Leave about 1.5 inches between each cookie ball. Bake at 350°F for 7-9 minutes. You’ll want to watch them because you don’t want the tops to get brown. The edges should barely be starting to look a touch brown when they are done. Let cool on the pan for a couple of minutes and then finish cooling on a rack. Store in an airtight container. Recipe yields about 24 cookies.
Now I have to share this next picture of my adorable little helper. When we were at Target a few days ago, they had an adorable little apron in the Dollar Spot. Rory saw it and just begged and begged for a “cooking dress”. (Sounds way fancier than apron, right?!) So we grabbed it and as soon as I started making the cookies, she wanted to help and the first thing she did was ask for her cooking dress. She was so proud of all of her mixing and scooping! So here she is, ready to share her treats in her fancy cooking dress.
In our family, we keep most holidays pretty simple. If we are feeling in the mood, we do a little extra here and there. Do you go all out for Valentine treats for your family, friends and neighbors, or do you keep it pretty low key? Let us know in comments! Be sure to share your favorite Valentine treats with us so we can check them out. Enjoy!
