With Adam far away in ol’ Mexico, and knowing that they do not celebrate Thanksgiving, I thought I would send him a Thanksgiving turkey! I had seen a fun turkey leg project and thought, why not do the whole thing!
First thing we needed though, was the stuffing! So we set off to Walmart to find all the fixin’s for a Thanksgiving meal.
We also found two mini cans of green beans and two large packages of Turkey Jerky to add to the “stuffing”.
I then got our three paper bags. Two lunch bag sized and one medium sized grocery bag.
I stuffed the body of the bird with all the dinner items. Compleats Turkey and Dressing, Mashed Potatoes, Green beans, Turkey Gravy package, some Craisins, and the Turkey Jerky! I folded up the opening of the paper bag and them stapled it shut.
Next I used the small paper bags to form the legs of the turkey. I filled them with the pies and some of the chocolate candy. To form the legs I just twisted the opening shut. I then took a strip of white paper and used Stampin’ Up’s grass scissors to cut Frill Booties for the ends of the legs. I used double sided tape to apply them to the ends.
I also used the same double sided tape to stick the legs to the body.
Hopefully this makes it to Mexico and Adam has a fun Thanksgiving day! It was definitely fun to make!
There is still time to send one of these out to your loved one, especially if they live in the states!
