When you are trying personalize your spring home decor, you can make these DIY Tissue Paper Easter Eggs.
Tissue Paper Easter Eggs
The weather right now here in Utah is very unpredictable. One day we will have nice spring like weather and the next day we have snow. Today was one of those days we woke up to snow and frosted car windows! I’ve been trying to add little touches of spring into my house to help brighten it up. I’ll be honest after taking all the Christmas decorations down this year my house felt boring and blah and I’m ready for Spring. I’m ready to see tulips and blossoms on the trees. Although I’m not so sure if I’m ready for the allergies that come along with the spring weather.
Last year I made this decoupage bunny and I loved how it turned out.
I remembered I had a bunch of these white eggs that I got on clearance last year after Easter so I thought they would be fun to decoupage and give them some color for spring! That’s how I came up with the idea for these DIY Tissue Paper Easter Eggs.
Don’t they look like boiled eggs sitting there ??
I wanted to try something different from using book pages like I did with the bunny so I thought tissue paper might be fun, and we all know that tissue paper comes in a lot of fun colors and designs now.
So I found this pretty tissue paper and I loved the soft colors and the touches of gold that were in the paper. I used the same technique as I did when I made the bunny. The nice thing about this craft is you can’t really mess it up tear the paper, glue it on, and make your own design. Even the kids can help you make them.
I love the colors!
So pretty!!
I also made some using the pages from books and also old piano music pages.
I can’t decide which one I like better?
Decorating with Tissue Paper Easter Eggs
If you are looking for an easy craft this is the one for you! I know you all have some of those lovely plastic eggs in your storage bins and I’m sure if you look you have old books on a shelf and some tissue paper lying around. If you don’t have these things the dollar store sells plastic eggs and tissue paper and paperback books. In the end this is a fun and inexpensive way to brighten up your home for spring using very little money to do it.
