Back to School 2013-2014

Today all the children (except the Kindergartners who start next week) headed off for their 1st day of school.  They were all VERY excited to see their friends and to meet their teachers!

While part of me is sad at the end of another summer another part of me is excited for the return of schedules and structure.  I am also hopeful that the return of school and structure will mean the return of my ability to spend some time on this here blog, I’ve missed it!  I’ve got a few projects about ready to share and I can’t wait to get back to a normal life.  We’ve created a new schedule for the family and so far so good!  Fingers crossed that it keeps going smoothly.

This weekend I picked up some rootbeer and watermelon flavored candy canes as a treat for the kids and today I typed up this little flag to attach to the canes as an after school treat for them all.  (We also had cookies but I didn’t cute them up at all so no pictures of them.)

And this one I just have to share because it is hilarious.

Typically she goes down for her nap at 1, this was her today at 11:30.  Apparently the new earlier wake up time is going to take some getting use to.  So weird to think that next week it’ll just be her and I every morning 5 days a week, how times have changed!

She was so excited for school today.  I got her all ready and she came in and showed Nate how she looked and after he told her she looked pretty he said “You look like an American Girl doll” and she looked in the mirror and said “I DO!” – it was so cute!!!!
