Halloween is in just a little over a month now. Can you believe it? Yes as you can tell I love Halloween and decorating for it! I’ve been trying to add new things to my decor this year and this little plaque adds the perfect touch to my Halloween decor. Once you gather all the supplies and have them ready to go it comes together very quickly!
Supplies you will need:
paint brush
wood numbers (3 and 1)
modge podge
black and orange paint
unfinished wood plaque
orange glitter
1 piece scrapbook paper
wood glue or glue gun
easel
easel
I already had this piece of wood but you can find unfinished wood plaques at any local craft store. I’ve even seen them at Walmart. First you will paint the wood black and cut your scrapbook paper the size of the wood and then mod podge the paper onto the wood. Then you will paint another coat of mod podge over the paper.
I found my wood numbers at Walmart. I painted them orange and then painted a coat of mod podge over the numbers and dipped them in orange glitter which is found at local craft stores. Then I sprayed the numbers with a sealer so the glitter would not come off. I love glitter and I especially love adding it to my Halloween decor!
Ok we are almost done!!Just glue your numbers onto your board and that is it! I always like to use wood glue because it seems to take a little longer to dry and then I’m able to move my numbers around and make sure they are straight and even. You could use a glue gun to glue them on but once you glue them down they are glued for good and they don’t really move too easily if you were to glue them on crooked.
Isn’t it so cute??
I don’t have a fireplace mantle so I have to use my shelf as a pretend mantle! I love how it looks with my other decorations!
So in the end I spent around $3.00 to make this project. The only thing I had to buy were the wood numbers and they were $3.00 for both. There are so many different ways you could make this plaque. You could paint the numbers black and use orange Halloween paper or mod podge scrapbook paper onto the numbers and paint the board. This is a fun project that comes together fairly quickly and is easy on the wallet and is a perfect addition to your Halloween decor!
