Paula was in Kansas and Lisa is remodeling her bathroom but Gena, Angela, and I and our families were able to get together to ring in New Year 2015! It feels so weird to type 2015, I feel like I just finally got use to typing 2014.
I had fun hosting the New Year party. I didn’t get much done for the party but I was able to set up a fun photo booth and I had fun New Year nails so that was something. The photo booth was a huge hit with the kids. I am having so much fun looking at all the pictures and can’t wait to see the ones everyone else took. We kept the evening pretty simple, lots of snacky foods and some games to pass the time. We fed the kids pizza for dinner and the adults went out. It was nice and low-key. When 11:58 rolled around the kids were all so very excited to have their sparkling cider in hand for the countdown. Every one of them made it to midnight and enjoyed screaming “HAPPY NEW YEAR” at the top of their lungs. A highlight of the evening was opening the front door to see the fireworks and far off to the west we saw a line of paper lanterns floating up to the sky. It was amazing to watch and now we’re all convinced we need to do the same thing, I just think they’re so magical.
I love this quote from Brad Paisley and love that the kids are paying attention to it. We’ve got a lot of goals for 2015, for the blog, for our families, and for each of us as individuals. I’m sure we’ll be sharing some of them as the year goes on. Do you make New Year resolutions? I do and sometimes I am really good at keeping them and sometimes I fail miserably early on. I’m determined to make just a few and NOT fail this year 🙂
We all hope YOU have a wonderful 2015 full of happiness, family, and fun.
