These Hawaiian Sweet Rolls are delicious to use as a dinner roll, sandwich bun, or slider!
Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
We have a few different roll recipes that we love to use. These ones are so easy, so we can just put them right into our rotation for rolls. We paired them with our BBQ Pulled Pork that you can find here. If your family loves rolls with our meals, these are perfect because of how easy and quick they are.
How to make Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
3/4 cup pineapple juice
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter
3 1/3 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 egg
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups flour
1 pinch salt
Directions:
Preheat over to 400°F.
Heat butter and pineapple juice in small sauce pan over medium low heat.
Stir in sugar until it dissolves.
Next stir in milk, remove from heat and cool to about 100°F.
Add yeast and let it sit for about 7 mins until the yeast starts to get foamy.
Pour into a stand mixer bowl and mix in the egg.
Mix in vanilla and pinch of salt.
Using a dough hook, add 1 1/2 cups of flour. Mix for 2 mins.
Add flour 1/2 cup at a time. Mix for another 2-3 mins until it becomes a smooth dough ball.
Turn out into a bowl sprayed with nonstick spray, spray the top of the dough lightly with nonstick spray.
Cover bowl with dish towel and let rise for 10 mins.
Turn dough out onto floured surface, divide into 12 pieces.
Roll into balls and place on greased baking pan.
Bake for 10-12 mins at 400°F.
Optional Glaze:
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1 tablespoon pineapple juice
1/2 teaspoon poppyseeds
Directions:
Mix melted butter and pineapple juice together and brush over top of hot rolls.
Then sprinkle with poppy seeds.
