Fall is in full swing so that means all the treats of autumn are here! We are topping off some of our fall favorites with our Homemade Caramel.
With just a little bit of time, you can have a delicious homemade caramel topping. This caramel has a smooth, not overly sweet flavor that you will just want to eat with a spoon!
Homemade Caramel
(Recipe by Paula Iniguez with The Housewives of Riverton)
1/2 cup unsalted butter
3/4 cup corn syrup
1 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
1/8 cup heavy cream
Directions:
Melt butter in a sauce pan over medium heat. Add corn syrup, bring to a light simmer with butter. Next mix in brown sugar, stirring constantly let it come to a heavy simmer. Stir in your sweetened condensed milk, once that is fully incorporated, turn heat to low and add in your heavy cream. Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes. Transfer to a dish, jar or other container before serving. You can drizzle over pancakes, scones, apples, ice cream, cinnamon tortilla chips, aebleskivers, pretty much anything you want! Make sure that you keep it refrigerated when you aren’t using it. Enjoy!
