I was so excited when I heard they announced the Primary Theme for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for 2016. I love how these themes give us something to focus on through out the year. The LDS 2016 Primary Theme is “I know the scriptures are true.”
Before we started reading scriptures tonight as a family, I was having a not very good evening. I was honestly considering just sending everyone to bed. It was already passed bedtime, I was not in a spiritual mood at all and I was ready to be done with this day. We’ve been majorly slacking on our family scripture study, so I knew I needed to suck it up and gather up the troops. As we sat down in the living room to read, I immediately started feeling more at peace. Even though Cole was struggling with the pronunciation of some words, both Rory and Sutton were crying, Hudson was focused more on the legos he found on the living room floor than the words that were being read, and Ryan was so exhausted from Scout Camp that he was barely awake…I knew we were where we should be, doing it what we should be and it was a great feeling. I’m hoping that we can have that feeling every night during our family scripture time, and hopefully having this printable where we can see it always will be a positive reminder for us.
