We’ve been so happy with all the beautiful, Spring weather we’ve been having. My kids love getting to play outside in the sun and fresh air, and I love getting to enjoy all the pink, peach, orange, yellow, and purple colors of Spring! Because of the time of year, we still do have some cooler and rainy days. When I can’t have my windows open and the kids can’t be outside, I love using Glade® Radiant Berries™ scented candles to fill my home with a bright, vibrant scent.
I wanted to bring some of those gorgeous colors into my home so I decided to make this Lighted Flower Wall Hanging. It ties together perfectly with my Glade Radiant Berries Scented Candles and the playful Spring decor I want for my home.
This project was so fun to do. I loved picking out the colors of the flowers and taking the time to relax while I put it together. It is a little time consuming, so gather your supplies, put on your favorite movie and enjoy some “me” time while you craft! Here are the supplies you are going to need…
1 large frame
paint, in color of your choice and a paint brush
1 strand of 100 LED battery operated white lights
electrical tape
1/2″ wire hardware cloth
staple gun
silk flowers, the amount will vary depending on your frame size
glue gun with glue sticks
wire cutters
The first thing you are going to want to do is paint your frame. If your frame is already the color you want, then you can skip this step. Otherwise, paint your frame and while it’s drying use the wire cutters to snip the stems off the silk flowers. You are going to want the stem snipped as close to the flower as possible without making the flower come apart.
Now that you have everything prepped we can put it all together!
First – Staple your wire backing to the frame. You are going to want to staple fairly close together so the wire lays tightly.
Second – Using the electrical tape, attach your lights to the wire backing. Push the lights through to the front and tape around the light wire.
Third – Arrange your flowers how you would like them to look. Work in smaller sections so you can remember how you arranged them.
Fourth – Using the glue gun, glue the flowers to the wire backing. Have smaller flowers that you can fill in the small, empty spaces with.
Fifth – Hang and enjoy!
One of my favorite things about this is that during the day it looks so bright and beautiful, and at night it gives off a beautiful romantic glow!
So my house is bright with this beautiful decor and the wonderful smell from Glade® Radiant Berries™ scented candles! I grabbed my candle at Walmart, but they are available at many other retailers as well.
