In case you didn’t know, our sweet friend Allison over at Cupcake Diaries wrote a cookbook! Do you know how cool it is to know people who actually have a cookbook published?! We are lucky that our amazingly talented friends trust us to share their awesomeness with our friends here! In her cookbook, Sun and Sizzle: Grills to Greens and Everything in Between, Allison has put together some of the most amazing recipes that will have you cooking all summer long! There is such a great variety and you can literally make full meals using just this cookbook. The first recipes that caught my eye were the Mixed Berry Wedge Salad and the Margherita French Bread. I was making our favorite Parmesan Chicken and just knew that these would be perfect side dishes.
One of the best things that I loved about these side dishes is that they look gorgeous but were easy to put together while my chicken was baking. I loved that at this meal was prep to table in like 40 minutes.
See! Super delicious, right?! My kids who aren’t huge wedge salad eaters, loved the berries and poppyseed dressing on this. The berries add such beautiful color, and the feta cheese and pecans add to the depth of flavor!
The Margherita French Bread might be my new favorite thing. I could have eaten the whole loaf by myself. But I think my family would have been a little upset with me. The minced garlic mixed with the butter, then topped with mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, basil, and olive oil…sign me up!
Because this cookbook is full of deliciousness, my kids have already marked their favorites and we have them on the meal plan to try out! A couple of the things we’ll be trying are the Grilled Mediterranean Chicken Flatbread Pizza, Marinated and Grilled Rib Eye Steaks, Raspberry Cheesecake Bars, Creamy Corn Dip and the Blackberry Peach Lemonade. I’ll be sure to share them as we make them, but really, you need to grab this cookbook now! It’s available on your Kindle too!
