First I need to say *HELLO*
November has came and went and with it I think went all of my sanity. Nate and I took a week toward the beginning of the month and took the kids to Disneyland for the last time on our season passes, we had a wonderful time but upon our return life has been {in a word} chaotic. We’re in the throws of Nutcracker season (with 4 dancers this year) and to add a little interest (because we weren’t having enough crazy fun as it was) Nate {sadly} tore his ACL playing basketball and will be having surgery in a couple weeks. *Never a dull moment* would appear to be our current family motto.
I have found a little time to do some crafting and I am excited to share my current projects with you.
The lovely people over at Cricut gave me the opportunity to try out their new Basic Tool Set and let me tell you, I am impressed. I am loving them. My favorites are these two beauties:
While I love them all I am in love with these two. The scissors are nice and sharp and the weeding tool….it my become my new best friend, it makes getting the little pieces out of vinyl out without damaging them has never been easier. It is also pretty fun that you can swap out the little colored ends to your liking.
To really try out the tools I pulled out a couple projects that have been on my list for a long time.
My cute {teenage…ACK} daughter was chosen to be part of the SOAR team at school. She’s really enjoying her time with the group of kids and the team jacket is an added bonus. The jacket is a perk but they are all the same, in an effort to help her know easily which one was hers we decided a little personalization was in order. With a little help from the awesome and amazing Cricut Iron-On Black Glitter Vinyl we had the perfect solution.
She is thrilled and has now created a list of things for me to make for her!
Top of her list is this project that I made for the youngest (who will be making her dancing debut at this year’s Children’s Nutcracker as an adorable little Gingerbread Cookie).
A lot of the girls up at the dance studio have a set of these sweats that have been personalized for them, I thought it would be fun to make some for my girls and figured it may be easiest to start with the baby (she’s not going to complain if I do it wrong :).
Both projects took about 20 minutes start to finish to make. I am in love with the ease of the Cricut Iron-On Vinyl. I’ve done quite a few things using it now and can’t wait to do more.
Make sure you add Cricut Iron-On Vinyl and the new Tools Basic Set to the top of your Christmas list, I promise you won’t be disappointed!
I need to give Paula a little shout out for being the sole blogger this past while, she’s a champ and I’m so thankful (on this last day of November) for all she does for me and to keep this blog afloat.
