As I was perusing Pinterest the other day I came upon a pin that sort of tweaked my imagination. It was apple pie egg rolls!
Well, this didn’t get my mouth watering enough to make me want to try it. What it did do is get my imagination whirling! One thing I love are those cream cheese won tons you can get at most Chinese restaurants. So I thought, why can’t we make a sweet version of those savory little starters? So I went to the store and picked up some supplies:
Won Ton Wrappers
Cherry Pie Filling
Cream Cheese
I had on hand the oil that is needed for frying, and powdered sugar that I thought would be great for sprinkling.
You will also need a little dish of water to dip your fingers into to seal the won ton wrappers.
I first prepared the cream cheese by dicing up about 1/4 of the package.
Next I placed a cube of cream cheese in the center of the won ton wrapper along with 1/2 tablespoon of pie filling.
I then wet the edge of the won ton wrapper and folded it into a triangle making sure to seal the edge very tightly.
