I love to make and decorate cakes! Sometimes they turn out exactly how I want! Other times, not so much. But hey, it’s all a learning experience right? My friend’s daughter asked me to make her a cake for her 8th birthday, so I started searching the internet for ideas on something that I could do to make her cake special. In my search, I came across this cake and just loved it! I knew it would be perfect!
I had already made Ruffle Cakes before and found an amazing tutorial WITH a video on how to do the Rosettes. I was honestly expecting it to be harder, but it was super easy! And i am baker‘s tutorial was super awesome!
Here are a few more pics before a dressed it up with some bling for the birthday girl. ๐
And the finished product! (Sorry for the quality…it as with my cell phone. :-))
A little warning if you are going to make this cake…make your crumb coat REALLY thin…the ruffles and rosettes create so much frosting on it, you don’t want to have even more frosting underneath that! ๐ Enjoy!

That cake is stunning!! I just did one for my daughter’s Paris pink poodle party, and yes, those rosettes sure use up a lot of frosting!
Thanks Ann! It was a lot of fun to do! I love frosting…and even for me it was too much, but it sure does look pretty! ๐
