Valentine’s Day wood plaque

January is flying by but I’ve also been getting excited for February. I’ve been having fun coming up with different ideas for decorating for Valentine’s Day.  I’ve seen different countdowns to Valentine’s Day but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do that. I remembered I made a Halloween plaque that just had the number “31” on it and thought it would be fun to do one with the number 14. The directions are basically the same as the Halloween plaque I made here . The only difference is instead of regular scrapbook paper I used this burlap polka dot paper.I picked this burlap paper up at Halloween time thinking I would use it for a Halloween banner but I never did. I thought the paper would look really cute with the Love wood blocks I just made. I have to tell you the blocks and this plaque have been so fun and easy to make. I know everyone has different styles when it comes to decorating but I think with all the fun paper and paint out there you could have a lot of fun with this plaque and blocks and make them your own!After I painted the plaque black I cut my burlap paper to fit the plaque and glued it on with some wood glue I had. I bought the numbers at Walmart and painted them red and glittered them with a fine red glitter see here for directions on how to add the glitter to your wood. I always spray a sealer over my glitter so it will not come off. And there you have it that is it!  It only took me about 30 minutes to complete this project so in no time at all you can have a cute Valentine craft.
