Yesterday we started off the weekend right. A solid 7.5 hours at the water park resulting in everyone getting a bit pink regardless of how many times (and it was many) we applied sun screen (I am so thankful it worked out to leave the little Goose home with Nate 104 was WAY too hot for her to be out in it all day). We finished off the day with an outdoor movie (Little Rascals) with our friends and much of our ward that included rootbeer floats and popcorn. It was awesome and the movie event is something we’ve really begun to look forward to each summer. I loved looking around last night and being surrounded by my friends and people who all in one way or another have a hand in how our children are growing and the adults they will turn out to be, it was (cheesily) like being wrapped in a big hug all night.
This morning my babies are all still exhaustedly sleeping away at 8:00. Nate and I are up and trying to get everything together for our first ever WHOLE family backpacking trip. I believe we have a total of 6 (possibly up to 8) adults coming to stay overnight and 17 (possibly 18) children ranging from 17 down to 2. We have every intention of every one of them hiking in on their own and carrying some sort of pack. We’re staying one night (think of us…pray for us!) and I’m pretty excited. I will be sure to take lots of pictures and bring you a report of how this experiment works out for us. We’re leaving behind projected INSANE heat:
for something that will hopefully be at least 20 degrees cooler.
In closing I leave you with the only pictures I took yesterday!
Cute little man finally tall enough to reach the chain to make the shower work!
New fun hairstyle taught to us by Kate Pease.
And the last is photos taken in the dark at our Outdoor Movie night.
Have a WONDERFUL weekend!
