I love popcorn, and thought I would share a treat I used to make in college!
It is perfect for Valentines day, and uses a common Valentines day candy. It is easy to make and I think your family will love it!
Cinnamon Heart Candy Popcorn
1/2 Cup Butter
1/2 Cup Sugar
1/4 Cup Corn Syrup
3/4 Cup Cinnamon Heart Candies
1/4 tea Baking Soda
24 Cups Popped Popcorn
Melt the butter over medium heat in a saucepan. Stir in sugar, corn syrup, and cinnamon candy. Turn the heat up slightly and bring to a boil. Still mixture until candy hearts are melted. Boil for 3 minutes without stirring.
Remove from the heat and stir in the baking soda.
Pour over the popcorn and stir to cover the popcorn.
Lay the popcorn out on a cookie sheet covered in parchment and let cool.
Break apart and store in an air tight container
** I embellished my popcorn for the holiday! I drizzled chocolate over the top and sprinkled it with Valentine themed sprinkles. You can dress this up however you want!**
Enjoy!
