I think it’s no secret that I LOVE easy recipes. They make it so much easier to get dinner done quickly and still feel like you are feeding your family something good.
This is a recipe that our family LOVES and takes me no time at all to make!
Here is what you are going to need…
3lb pork roast (boneless is easier, but bone in will work too.)
1/2 small onion sliced thin
1 tablespoon flour
1/4 cup water
1 bottle of barbecue sauce, or you can use our homemade recipe…just be sure and double it!
Place the sliced rings of your onion on the bottom of the crock pot. Sprinkle the flour on top of the onion rings. Set your roast on top of the onions and flour. I sprinkle a little season salt and pepper on top of my roast but this is not necessary. Pour 1/4 cup water in the bottom of the crockpot. This will need at least 3.5 hours to cook on high. If your roast is larger, it will take more time. You can also cook it on low/med for 6 hours if you are needing to put it in earlier. Now you can just let the delicious smells fill your house!
Once it’s been in for about 2 hours, pour at least half of your barbecue sauce over the top of the roast. At 3 hours you should be able to take two forks and begin shredding the roast. It should shred very easily. After the shredding, add the rest of your barbecue sauce and let it set while you prepare the rest of your meal.
We serve ours on our homemade hamburger buns, but it’s also great on sandwich bread, rolls or by itself!
I hope you enjoy this recipe! Let me know what you think of it if you get to give it a try!
