I’m sure you’ve seen them all over Pinterest…Salad in a Jar. Now that I’m 10 weeks postpartum, I been trying to get the motivation going to get this baby weight (and a little more) off! I LOVE eating salads, but I usually just eat what I make the kids for lunch and lets say that PB & J sandwiches are getting a little old. I thought I’d put the idea of Salad in a Jar to the test.
I have to say I was very impressed with how well these kept! There is nothing worse than a soggy salad, and these stayed nice and crisp for a week!
They are super easy to put together and you can customize them to what you and your family like. The key to keeping them crisp is to keep the dressing away from the lettuce.
Start with your dressing, then add your veggies. After that, layer on your meats and cheeses. Last your lettuce. I packed my lettuce in pretty tight because I like lots of lettuce. Store them in your fridge and take one out when you need it! I used mine up in a week, so I don’t know if they last longer after that…so if you’ve kept them longer, let me know! 🙂
